In Germany, we are witnessing a growing shift to the right, increased police violence against marginalized groups and deep contradictions in the German memory culture. At the same time, spaces for art and discourse are being increasingly censored. Direct repression, the exertion of political influence and financial cuts are primarily affecting projects by and for marginalized groups, while minorities are being pitted against each other.

This panel discussion brings together artists, activists and experts to talk about strategies to combat antiziganism, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia in the arts - while safeguarding artistic freedom.

Questions that will be discussed:
• How does art play a role as a resistant space against discrimination and state repression?
• What strategies against antiziganism, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia have been successful?
• How can communities form networks in solidarity and learn from each other?
• How does political control over funding and spaces affect marginalized voices?

The panel will be held in German and translated into German Sign Language (DGS).
